OH DEER!!!!!

The pumpkins were growing and all was well in our little family farm utopia.

They started producing those little curly things and this was exciting. What do you call them- tendrils??

And then, the one thing that Kerry Heafner warned us about showed up......

OH DEER!!! 

How could this happen?? We have mummies and pie plates and two big black dogs...

Penny and LeRoy are FIRED!! 

It was like an announcement was made to the entire White Tail community that some "wanna be's" were trying to grow pumpkins over in West Monroe and everyone should come check it out.

I was horrified to see all their little prints. They kind of look like upside down hearts, but I was feeling no love for them.

  I posted a pic of their prints on FB and we got a bunch of different funny helpful hints. I loved reading the one about playing the radio out loud- Thank you Dara Hamm!! I think my neighbor Allison would die if she had to view pie plates, mummies AND listen to National Public Radio from her patio!! HAHHAHAHA

So, the easiest suggestion was to enlist some help from our friends at M Salon. Thank you Krista Richardson for this hint on using hair to scare the deer away......

Thank you girls!!! I love me some Ashley Murray!!!! 

They collected a bag of hair for us to put out to scare away the deer.

Who knew so much hair could be collected in just one day??? Leslie Bauman, if you got your hair trimmed on Tues, June 20th, your pretty blonde hair is in our patch!!! hahahahaah

Thank you to Mallory Williams, Lorie Jones, Natalie Matthews and Ashley for collecting for me all day long. 

  Phoebe and I got to work putting it out around the perimeter of the patch. 

Take that Deer!!!!! Smell That and Run.....( I had a few more choice words added to that, but trying to keep the blog PG rated)

Sure hope this works. 

The plants are getting huge and we will just fall out and die if something happens to them.
